Pick a string to hear its note.
Play one open string and keep the others quiet. The tuner listens through the microphone, finds the string closest to what it heard and shows whether it is flat or sharp, and by how many cents.
A string counts as in tune within 5 cents of the mark and gets a check once it stays there for a moment. A cent is one hundredth of a fret. Reference: A = 440 Hz
