Solmiza

What's new

What Solmiza already does today, by area. The date of each item was not recorded, so this list does not make one up.

  1. The course

    • 113 lessons in 16 levels, with 955 exercises of more than 30 kinds.
    • Every wrong answer comes with the why, in plain words.
    • The same idea comes back in other keys and other places on the neck, so memorizing an answer does not help.
  2. Free practice

    • A tuner that listens through the microphone.
    • Six free practice modes: neck, chords, key harmony, substitutions, scales and progressions.
    • Everything works in the browser, with nothing to install, and Solmiza can sit on your home screen like an app.
  3. Progress and habit

    • Five achievements, one for each thing the hands learn: the first chord, the first piece, the first improvisation, the first barre and the whole course.
    • A habit calendar and a projection of your weekly study pace.
  4. Reference

    • Reference pages for chords, scales, key harmony and cadences.
    • A glossary of technical terms, which also shows up as help on the screens that use each term.
  5. Account and plans

    • A public certificate for each finished level, with name, level and date. Never an email, never a detail of your progress.
    • Export all your data and delete your account, whenever you want.
    • Lifetime or annual plan. Subscribers keep their price, even if it changes later.
  6. For teachers

    in progress
    • A space for teachers to create classes and see the name and progress of each student who joins is being prepared. Lessons for the class and live lessons come after.
